Out of the blue, I received an email requesting my children’s book details as a CYA Conference presenter!! What? Me a presenter? My heart pattered.
I quickly clicked the CYA conference link. I couldn’t breathe.
Surprisingly, my name Karen Tyrrell was listed as a presenter on the Success Story panel alongside my buddy Caylie Jeffery and writers Kathryn Apel, Samantha Wheeler, Stella Tarakson, and Cassandra Webb.
I clicked to the top TAB Success Story wall to discover my photo alongside Caylie again. Amazing!
I’m listed on the same page as author friends Alison Stegert, Dimity Powell, Kaz Delaney, Angela Sunde, Julie Fison and MORE.

THEN, I rushed outside to tell my darling husband Steve … I was gasping now.
“Take a deep breath,” he warned.
“I … I’m a CYA presenter … It’s all I’ve EVER wanted.” A tear trickled down my cheek.
I dreamed of presenting as a children’s author there, ever since my very first CYA conference back in 2010.
Each year, I’m inspired by the workshops and the constructive feedback from writing competitions I’ve entered.
